Charity Journey

Growing up in a remote and rural area of Bangladesh, I faced immense challenges in accessing education. My daily journey to school involved walking 10 kilometers, often through broken and muddy pathways during the rainy season. Even during the dry season, the roads were difficult to navigate.

Hi. I am Ubaidul Haque and this is my endeavor towards founding this Charity Foundation which brought new meaning and dimension to my life.

  • 2007

I moved to Australia as an overseas student.

  • 2013

Through years of relentless studying and perseverance, I gained permanent residency in Australia.

  • 2014

I secured a job at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, a prestigious institution both nationally and globally.

  • 2017

A highlight of my career came in 2017, when I attended the "Ultimate Success" awards program in Fiji.

At this event, I had the opportunity to meet the Bank’s incoming CEO, Matt Comyn, Group Executive General Manager Angus Sullivan, Executive General Manager Mark Jones, EGM Bill Tripodis and many more influential figures.

As part of the event, we visited a remote school in Fiji to contribute to its improvement, painting desks and repairing roads.

That night, we raised $50,000 for the school—a gesture that profoundly moved me and rekindled my connection to my roots.

The experience stayed with me, reminding me of the struggles I had faced and the opportunities that had been out of reach for so many children in my homeland.

Upon returning to Australia, my thoughts were consumed by the school in Fiji and the potential for similar change in my village.

  • December 2017

Two months later, in December 2017, I visited Bangladesh and proposed establishing a school in my village. The community's overwhelming support led to the laying of the foundation stone on Bangladesh's Victory Day, December 16, 2017.

Today, this school Ubaidul Haque Academy serves as a beacon for 20 villages, educating around 100 students with the help of five dedicated teachers and a school assistant. Despite significant personal and financial sacrifices, including battling local gangs and bureaucratic challenges, my wife and I have continued to support the school.
